Deekline & Wizard hit SupaT UK

Posted by jurassik | May 17th, 2010

Greetings True Believers,

Dear lord, has it really been seven years? Supatronix started out in a small Old Street bar populated mainly by dodgy drug dealers. Since then we’ve hopped all over London in search of the best soundsystems and locations to hit you with the bass and breaks in super-friendly environments which feel like proper clubs, not over-priced tourist traps.

Fast forward to 2010, and we’re doing our thing at the Brixton JAMM. Our big birthday bash on Friday, May 28 will be a firing allnighter with a speaker-busting lineup of galactic proportions and live visuals from London duo Polyphant.

Booty heroes Deekline and Wizard will be headlining, playing a rare London live date alongside the mighty MC Ivory, and we’ve got the cream of the capital’s underground breakbeat scene in support, from club nights such as Graffiti Breaks, Crooked and Upper Playground. In the bar, Ninja Tunes’ own DJ Vadim heads up a hip-hop and nufunk orientated lineup with support from Jungle is Massive DJs.

Entry is just £7 in advance from www.ticketweb.co.uk. Click the link below to purchase.

Alternately, email jurassik@supatronix.org and we’ll add you to a £7 concessions list before 11pm. Normal price is £10 on the door.

Fancy dress code for this one is: Get your chav on. Been hiding the Burberry for fear of ridicule? Now’s your chance to rock the look you’ve always dreamed of. Prizes for the best/worst dressed!

And don’t forget to click below for the Facebook event page and hit “attending” to help us spread the word.

Supatronix vs Skanks! allnighter

Posted by jurassik | March 17th, 2010

Far Too Loud

Greetings True Believers!

We know it’s been a while since we last banged on your virtual door and irritatingly screamed: “come to Supatronix you *!%$£s!” in brazen and bombastic fashion, but now we’re back, and this time we’ve really got something to blether about.

In a few weeks’ time, SupaT UK will be making its grand return at the all new, function one-ed up JAMM in Brixton (yes, south of da river, shock horror!), alongside those funky kids from Skanks! And we’ve put together the sort of lineup which ought to drag even the most ardent armchair clubber out of their comfortable pit of apathy.

Headlining the breaks room will be Far Too Loud (above) Funkatech’s head-spinning psy-breaks overlord, alongside the more dubstep-influenced sounds of Brighton badman High Rankin, who’ll no doubt be dropping his hilarious ode to the joys of Mephedrome, Miaow Miaow (that shizzle makes you smell like cat’s piss, apparently).

Support comes from Sub Slayers’ glitchy breaks hero Gella, who has been tearing the scene a new arsehole over the past few months with storming anthems like Twinkle and Cocaine, as well as SupaT regulars Jurassik, Country Cockney, Sai, Amp & Funked.

We’ve gone a little harder in the breaks room this time, largely because the room two lineup ought to cater for those of a more funky disposition (and with a brand new function one soundsystem in there to boot). Headlining is Ninja Tunes’ own DJ Food, Coldcut cohort and turntablist extraordinaire, alongside breaks godfather Rennie Pilgrem, who’ll be showcasing the downtempo nufunk sound which he’s been pioneering for the past six months. Skanks! types Droppin’ Science, Skinny & Clarkie, Boy Wonder and Anna B provide able support.

We’ve dropped a few recent mixes for you below. In particular, Gella’s new selection is a spectacular example of deep yet bassy breaks for 2010, but we hope you enjoy them all.

The wise among you will head on over to ticketweb.co.uk now, where a very limited number of earlybird tickets have just gone up for £6. Normal priced entry is £8/£10, so well worth grabbing one now.

Finally, grab some free mixes from our headliners below!

Supatronix Melbourne 20/03/10

Posted by Missmax | March 10th, 2010

Supatronix Melbourne is back with a bang with their first party of the decade!

Since the last Supatronix show at Melbourne’s world famous Revolver night club, a lot has been going on for the Supatronix kids down under.

Missmax smashed it to the masses @ Melbourne’s Stanton Warriors show late November, gaining interest from the underground breaks scene and being offered more gigs at Revolver supporting touring international breaks acts.  Youthful Implants has been busy with launching a new label and working hard in the studio on original tunes and remixes alike as well as spinning at loads of gigs across Melbourne.

So we have lots to celebrate and heaps of new sounds to share at the next Supatronix in Melbourne. To top it off we are pleased to present long time Supatronix favourite in London – Plaza De Funk. He’s been rocking crowds across the globe and we’re stoked to host his Supa funkness at The Late Show @ Revolver for his only Melbourne show.

We’re also celebrating Supatronix Records being available on Beatport. What a way to start the new decade!
…and to top off the madness It’s a birthday party as well – Missmax is growing up somewhat! ;)

For Supatronix Melbourne doorlist please send names to missmax@supatronix.org
